Much of the land and water that make up Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was so polluted by its history of industrial use that it had become a no go area used for dumping waste such as the abandoned fridge mountain which clung to the water’s edge. The site was cleaned up in 2005, but no one really knows where the fridges really went. Timeout has a remarkable set of photographs showing before and after shots of the Park.
